Cruise without a Passport. Updated 31 Mar 08 3/31/2008 1:31:29 PM Link | | Add comment March 31, 2008 - Northwestern Travel - Well, another round in the Passport requirements for cruising in the Caribbean. The requirements have been revised to read like this: Cruise in the Caribbean/Mexico - passport not required if you are leaving and returning to the same port. A birth certificate along with a drivers license is still sufficient. Cruises beginning and ending at different ports - Caribbean/Mexico itinerarys - passport/passport card will be required. All other destinations - passport required.
The latest info as of today can be confusing but we try our very best to make sure that you have the proper documentation for your vacation destination.
Make sure you talk with one of our consultants if you are unclear about your proper documentation.
Passport photos are only $10.00 for a set and no appointment is necessary. We also have the applications for the passport, passport card, and passport renewal forms. - BH | Suite deals for the entire family! 3/28/2008 12:44:11 PM Link | | Add comment Recently my family and I stayed at a hotel that offered a renewed concepts in suite accommodations. Hyatt Place hotels has remodeled many of their properties by converting their rooms into a totally different room arrangement than any other hotel I have stayed in. By moving the bathroom away from the entry to the opposite side of the room, (albeit small) they have created a "play area" along with a HUMONGOUS flat panel screen TV,and added a huge corner sectional couch with an ottoman. We were able to crash on the couch, hook up our Wii for some competitive game time and bowling, while my wife had room to plug in her laptop for free internet. We also loved the lobby decor while we enjoyed our free hot breakfast! That's always a big hit with my two energy burning sons. Many of the hotels even have swimming pools so you can splash away and then return to the room and sleep on the most comfortable plush memory foam bed. The only thing missing was a microwave oven. We mentioned that and maybe they have added those now for popping the popcorn for the bigscreen movie. The room was ideal for business types too with free internet and plenty of room to spread out the work. Our travel agents have access to very competitive room rates at various hotels that meet or beat internet rates. Give them a call and plan your weekend or business trip with a "suite" deal. -BH | Vacations can recharge your batteries. 3/18/2008 8:06:13 AM Link | | Add comment I recently took Friday off since it was my birthday. Since it was a school day, my 2 sons were in school and my wife was working, I had the day all to myself. I rarely get sick, so I don't take all my sick days or even use all my vacation time. Very typical for Americans as compared to Europeans who get an entire month, and they use it! So even taking my one day off made the weekend seem like a week. Now, even more so, I know the importance of taking a vacation! I didn't realize how much I needed to make a break in my routine and recharge my batteries. Popped my favorite CDs in the player and I was off for the day. Now you should think about your vacation time. Just by changing your routine or locale, like going to a hotel with a swimming pool, can refresh the mind and spirit. (shameless plug - we have negotiated hotel rates that meet or beat online pricing!) For a real vacation, I would suggest a calling our travel consultants to book a cruise to the Caribbean (early booking specials are out right now.) Or how about a direct flight to start your sunny vacation to Punta Cana, Dominica; or Cancun, Mexico. If you don't have a passport, we have some great packages to other destinations as well, New York show packages, Boston Historical tours, Florida beaches and destination parks, or California wine country bed & breakfast, Colorado & Utah ski, or how about a real time western dude ranch. The possibilites can be endless. Oh, and what did I do for the day? I took off to Toledo to visit the Mummies to Monet exhibit and see the glass collection in the new Glass House. I'm planning something bigger next time!! -BH | Tired of this Ohio weather? Slip away to the Caribbean. 3/6/2008 6:25:02 PM Link | | Add comment What a roller coaster week of weather. Started out 30's, then it rained snow and ice, then the sidewalks cleared up in the sun even though school was canceled. Then today it was gray out and now just as I type, my browser popped a winter storm warning. Aren't you ready to get away yet? I just saw a couple promotions come in today advertising some great sales for Punta Cana, Cancun, we even have some great pricing on a cruise. Warm water, blue skies, white sand, gently lapping waves on the beach while you sip a cool, refreshing drink. Ready to slip away? Call Karen or Kelly to make arrangements. Start packing, then warm it up in the sun! | |
